K-pop boy band Seventeen has achieved a remarkable feat by selling 6.2 million copies of their 10th EP titled "FML," making it the highest-selling album in K-pop history, as announced by their agency Pledis Entertainment. The album sales, which were tracked by distributor YG Plus, encompassed the period from the release date on April 24 until the present week. This marks the first time that a K-pop artist's album has surpassed six million copies sold.
Since its release, "FML" has shattered multiple records. It became the first album worldwide to achieve three million copies sold on its debut day. Furthermore, it secured the distinction of being the best-selling album within the first week of release in the history of K-pop, with an impressive 4.55 million copies sold.
The album's success extended beyond South Korea. In May, it received a triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for shipping over 750,000 copies in the Japanese market.
Seventeen is preparing to embark on their "Follow" tour, with two concerts scheduled at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, western Seoul, on July 21 and 22. This tour will undoubtedly serve as a celebratory occasion for the band's extraordinary achievem
