"Sri Lanka Conclude ODI WC Qualifier with Perfect Record, Dominating Victory in Final"

Sri Lanka finished the ODI World Cup qualifier with an impeccable record as their bowlers orchestrated a comprehensive victory in the final match. The Netherlands struggled, collapsing to 105 all out while chasing a modest target. Sri Lanka scored 233 runs, with Arachchige contributing 57, Mendis 43, and Asalanka 36. Vikramjit took 2 wickets for 12 runs for the Netherlands. Theekshana took 4 wickets for 31 runs, Madushanka claimed 3 for 18, and Hasaranga secured 2 for 35, demolishing the Netherlands' batting lineup.

Despite a late collapse in Sri Lanka's innings, losing seven wickets for 53 runs, the match was always in their control due to the dominant performance by their bowlers. Dilshan Madushanka played a vital role, taking three wickets early on, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana contributed with two wickets each. Theekshana's four-wicket haul eventually dismissed the Netherlands for 105, securing Sri Lanka's victory in the qualifier final. Remarkably, Sri Lanka remained undefeated throughout the qualifying event. Both Sri Lanka and the Netherlands had already qualified for the ODI World Cup.

The Netherlands, coming off a thrilling chase against Scotland, chose to field first. While Vikramjit Singh picked up two early wickets, Mendis and Arachchige stabilized Sri Lanka's innings with a partnership. Sri Lanka's batsmen utilized the sweep shot effectively against the spinners, particularly leg-spinner Saqib Zulfiqar. However, Netherlands made a breakthrough when Mendis got dismissed. Arachchige reached a half-century, but Netherlands fought back with quick wickets, limiting Sri Lanka to 233.

In their chase, the Netherlands started well, scoring 25 runs in the first few overs. However, the game shifted in Sri Lanka's favor as the floodgates opened with Vikramjit's dismissal. Madushanka then dismissed Barresi, followed by Hasaranga trapping Nidamanuru lbw. The Netherlands faced a setback when their captain, Scott Edwards, fell to a run-out, leaving them struggling at 49 for 6. O'Dowd's resilience helped the total cross 100, but Theekshana's bowling brilliance ended his innings. Theekshana claimed four wickets, dismissing the last three batsmen lbw as the Netherlands crumbled to 105.

Both teams will meet again in a more significant contest in India, where the Netherlands will aim to give a better performance.
