"Jemimah Rodrigues: A Rising Star in Indian Women's Cricket"

Jemimah Rodrigues, born and raised in Bhandup, Mumbai, India, grew up in a Christian household with her two brothers, Enoch and Eli. At a young age of four, she started playing cricket and later moved to Bandra West to access better sports facilities. Her father, Ivan Rodrigues, coached her and established the girls' cricket team at her school. Jemimah also enjoyed playing hockey during her youth.

She attended St. Joseph's Convent High School in Mumbai and later studied at Rizvi College of Arts, Science & Commerce. Jemimah excelled in both hockey and cricket, representing the Maharashtra under-17 and under-19 hockey teams. Her cricket journey began at the age of 12 and a half, making her under-19 debut during the 2012-13 season. Her father played a crucial role as her primary coach and mentor, being her hero and the key to her success.

Jemimah made headlines by becoming only the second woman, after Smriti Mandhana, to score a double century in a 50-over cricket match. She achieved this feat by scoring an unbeaten 202 off 163 balls against the Saurashtra team in November 2017. Prior to that match, she also scored a remarkable 178 off 142 balls against the Gujarat team in an under-19 tournament.

Her impressive performances led to her selection in the Indian squad for the ODI series against South Africa in February 2018. She made her Women's Twenty20 International debut against South Africa in the same year and her Women's One Day International debut against Australia in March 2018. Jemimah was named in India's squad for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 tournament and was recognized as a player to watch.

Following the tournament, she received accolades as the standout player in the Indian team by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In 2018, Jemimah signed with Baseline Ventures, a sports marketing firm, to manage her commercial interests. She continued to represent India in various international tournaments, including the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia.

In 2021, she was included in India's Test squad against England, and she also participated in the inaugural edition of The Hundred for the Northern Superchargers. Jemimah showcased her batting prowess in The Hundred, averaging 41.50 and achieving the highest score of the women's tournament with an unbeaten 92 against Welsh Fire. She was the second-highest run-scorer in the competition.

Jemimah also played for the Melbourne Renegades in the 2021 WBBL and was retained by the Northern Superchargers for the 2022 edition of The Hundred. She was named in India's team for the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. In the Women's Premier League 2023, she was bought by the Delhi Capitals and made an impressive debut, scoring 22 runs off 15 balls against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
